It is the highlight of various exhibitions and will grow greatly this year.
With the rapid development of semiconductor technology, the integrated circuit is becoming more and more powerful, but in the electronic product composition, a device is indispensable, it is the connector, connector is the necessary core basic components of the entire circuit system electrical connection, its role is to achieve through the use of electrical/optical signals and mechanical force. Disconnect or switch. Connectors are widely used in automotive, communications, aerospace, military equipment, computers, industry, household appliances and many other fields. Connectors are a beautiful landscape in any electronic exhibition.
This is because the global connector market has been growing continuously for nearly 40 years. According to Bishop & Associate data, the global connector market grew from 59.4 billion yuan in 1980 to 364.3 billion yuan in 2016. The composite growth rate was as high as 5.2%. The growth rate has slowed down in the past decade and the composite growth rate was 2.6%. The global connector market reached 54.4 billion US dollars in 2016, up 4.5% year-on-year, and still maintained a steady growth trend. The Chinese market has performed better, growing about twice as fast as the global market, 10% year-on-year, to $15.94 billion, accounting for nearly 30% of the global market, up from 20% in 2010. Although the global connector market has experienced a temporary downturn since 2014, it will continue to drive the industry forward with the rebound of China's economy and the upgrading of intelligence.
1. In 2017, the connector market grew steadily.
According to the latest statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics, China's industrial profits have maintained a good growth trend from January to April this year. From 2012 to 2016, profits of Industrial Enterprises above the scale increased by 5.3%, 12.2%, 3.3%, 2.3% and 8.5% respectively, and the annual growth rate was lower than that of April this year.
In addition, the total profit of Industrial Enterprises above the scale reached 2278.03 billion yuan in January-April, the growth rate reached 24.4%, and the new profit was 447.3 billion yuan, the highest since 2012. This shows that China's economy has bottomed out and warmed up. From the perspective of South China, an important electronics town, the supply of various components has tightened since the beginning of the year. Driven by pull, the global connector market is expected to reach $61.76 billion in 2017, and the Chinese market will approach $20 billion, which is undoubtedly very exciting data for connector manufacturers.
Two, four trends of connector development
With the trend of product intelligence becoming more and more obvious, connector products present four development trends.
Trend 1: from standard to customized
Traditional connectors are passive products, manufacturers can provide standardized products to customers. With the diversification of electronic products and the emergence of more and more intelligent products such as robots, UAVs, manufacturers need more customized connector products to meet product needs, connector manufacturers need to develop new products with customers. To meet the customer's needs for the shape and function of the reader, so the connector manufacturer should participate in the customer's design in advance.
Trend two, from single signal transmission to multi signal transmission
Traditional connectors only transmit a single signal, such as video, control or data signals. As electronic products become thinner and thinner, connectors change from single signal transmission to multiple signal transmission. The same cable can transmit optical, electrical or other signals at the same time, which is also conducive to saving space to enhance system reliability.
Trend three, from passive products to modularization and intellectualization
Traditional connector vendors are turning connectors from a passive product to a modular product in order to make more money. For example, server cable providers will make connectors smarter, turning a single cable into a smart cable that monitors data by adding an active IC.
Trend four, miniaturization and thin miniaturization
Nowadays, electronic products are becoming thinner and thinner, which also promotes the development of connecting machine products and connector products towards small size, low height, narrow space, multi-function, long life, surface mounting, etc. So connector manufacturers should adapt to these changes and improve process and design.
